Descripción del empleo

We are looking for an experienced, self-driven, and team-oriented Systems Engineer to strengthen our internal AI foundations platform Apollo. The goal of Apollo is to facilitate the development of LLM- and Agentic AI applications. You will work as a member of the Apollo team to further expand this internal platform.

This position is based in Sant Cugat, Spain.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Design, build, and support a highly available LLM and Agentic AI platform as the System Engineer of Boehringer Ingelheim's Apollo platform.
• Collaborate closely with the Apollo Product Owner and the architecture and engineering team members.
• Support different product lines of Apollo, such as the enterprise LLM API and a low-code/no-code agent development platform.
• Monitor and resolve platform availability and performance issues; implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions to maximize platform uptime during outages.

Requirements

• Master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a comparable scientific field; or a bachelor's degree with practical experience.
• Several years of professional experience in an international IT environment.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes (OpenShift), and DevOps tools like Jenkins, Helm, Git.
• Strong experience in building and maintaining API-based systems.
• Professional coding experience in Python.
• Experience with application monitoring tools like Dynatrace.
• Experience in a corporate IT setting (enterprise DevOps) is beneficial.
• Experience in the LLM/Agentic AI ecosystem and related technologies (e.g., Huggingface, Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, LangChain, LiteLLM, Argilla, DeepEval).

Experience with Qdrant or other vector databases is beneficial.

• Working experience in pharmaceuticals or similar industries is a plus.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English (oral and written); German is a plus.
