Within the framework of the MARIE SKŁODOWSKA-CURIE ACTIONS – POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS (HORIZON-MSCA-2025-PF-01-01) CINBIO, acting as a host institution, welcomes applications from researchers in the following main areas:
- Nanomaterials: mainly focused on the study and application of optical and catalytic properties, magnetic and thermal properties, as well as transport properties in various materials and systems that can be applied in multiple fields of science and technology, including chemistry, biomedicine, microbiology, etc.
- Biomedicine: focused on biomarkers, advanced therapies and molecular basis, aiming to uncover the underlying mechanisms of disease, which can be addressed using nanotechnology.
Candidates are encouraged to submit proposals involving two different research groups from the two different core areas and exploring new collaborations and synergies between CINBIO researchers. Proposals involving just one research area will be also welcomed:
- TeamNanoTech . Design, synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials aiming at developing merged, enhanced and novel applications. Contact: M. A. Correa Duarte.
- Biomimetic Nanomaterials . Application of methods inspired from nature's design principles, to develop strategies for the synthesis and self-assembly of nanomaterials with precise dimensions, morphology, and tailored properties.Contact: L. M. Liz Marzán.
- Funtional NanobioMaterials . Design and fabrication of novel nanostructured materials for a broad range of applications, including environmental sensing, biosensing, nanomedicine, theragnostics, controlled release, catalysis. Contact: I. P. Santos.
- Hybrid Nanomaterials . Nanocrystals of magnetic materials, together with their synthesis and their structural and magnetic characterisation. Contact: V. Salgueiriño Maceira.
- Materials Chemistry and Physics . Exploration of wet chemistry approaches to control the size, shape and composition of various nanomaterials to understand their properties. Contact: L. Polavarapu.
- Organic Chemistry I&D . Stereoselective synthesis of natural products with special attention to polyenes, as well as epigenetic modulators and the development of new synthetic methods supported by computational chemistry. Contact: Á. Rodríguez de Lera.
- Biomass and Sustainable development . Use of plant biomass residues to obtain products of interest for the food industry, enzymology and microbiology. The group has two main lines related to prebiotics and antioxidants. Contact: H. Domínguez González.
- Phylogenomics . General molecular evolution of genomes, cells, populations, and species, combining tools from different fields: from biology to statistics and information technology. Contact: D. Posada González.
- Computacional Molecular Evolution . Understanding of the evolution of biological macromolecules (especially DNA and proteins) using computational approaches and the application of this knowledge to Biomedicine. Contact: M. Arenas Busto.
- Rare Diseases . Molecular and functional characterisation of mutations in rare diseases (retinal dystrophy, ciliopathies and pulmonary arterial hypertension). Epigenetic regulation in search for colorectal/lung cancer biomarkers. Contact: D. Valverde Pérez.
- Neurocircuits . Dissecting different brain circuits controlling eye movements and other motor behaviours taking advantage of the lamprey nervous system. Contact: J. Pérez Fernández.
