From Claire Joster Executive we are seeking an Export Sales Manager for our client, a leading medical device company in its sector, to spearhead their international growth on a regional scale.
Based at the company’s headquarters in Madrid, the Export Sales Manager will join a growing organization focused on operational excellence and continuous improvement in customer success.
- Develop and execute the international sales and business development strategy, aligned with the company’s overall commercial objectives.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Export Sales professionals, fostering collaboration, growth, and high performance.
- Identify, evaluate, and secure new distributors, direct clients, and key partners in target markets.
- Manage and grow existing export accounts, ensuring commercial agreements are optimized for growth and profitability.
- Drive private label business opportunities, working closely with internal teams to customize offerings when needed.
- Lead pricing strategy development, negotiation, and margin control across export markets.
- Build strategic market entry plans for new countries or regions, identifying regulatory, logistical, and commercial needs.
- Represent the company at international trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events, enhancing brand visibility and building new business networks.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other internal areas to ensure smooth execution of export operations.
- Forecast international sales performance, analyse KPIs, and report results regularly to senior management.
- Monitor international market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify risks and opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with all international trade, legal, and ethical standards in all activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Trade, Marketing, or a related field; master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in international sales or export management, ideally in the healthcare, pharma, optical, or FMCG industries.
- Proven track record of developing new markets and successfully managing distributor networks and direct clients.
- Strong negotiation skills and business acumen, especially regarding pricing, profitability, and contract management.
- Experience working with private label / customization projects is highly valued.
- High level of autonomy, proactivity, and results-driven mindset.
- Fluent in English; additional languages is highly desirable.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required.
