A vacancy for an Experimental Test Pilot with experience in combat aircraft has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in Getafe.

The candidates must have Spanish National Clearance to support Spanish National programs. Acceptance of candidates currently active in the Spanish EA is subject to prior approval from EA authorities.

The applicant must be comfortable with teamwork and prepared for extended periods away from home. The successful candidate will join the Flight Test Department.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities:

1. Support development, certification, qualification, validation, verification, and acceptance of Flight Operations, including preparation, execution, and reporting.
2. Support as Experimental Test Pilot in the Test Center for other internal organizations.
3. Execute Experimental Test Pilot activities across Airbus or Customer facilities worldwide.
4. Participate in EF-2000 Test, Production, Delivery, and Training activities.
5. Participate in A400 Test, Production, Delivery, and Training activities (in-flight and simulator).
6. Participate in Airbus Defence and Space Derivatives (A310, A330, A320, etc.) Test, Production, Delivery, and Training activities (in-flight and simulator).
7. Participate in M&L Test, Production, Delivery, and Training activities (in-flight and simulator).
8. Support the Chief Engineer Office and Programs in designing and developing aircraft and systems.
9. Support commercial activities as required.
10. Support FCAS and UAV programs as required.

Skills:

We seek candidates with:

• Demonstrated Flight and Flight Test experience in military aircraft: over 2500 flight hours, including at least 1500 in combat aircraft.
• Experience in Development (DT), Certification and Qualification (C&Q), Validation and Verification (V&V) activities as an Experimental Test Pilot (5+ years).
• Air-to-Air Refuelling (AAR) experience as tanker or receiver.
• Flight Test Operations management experience (5+ years).

Valued additional skills include:

• Flight Test Instructor (FTI) qualification and experience.
• Any valid Airbus Type Rating (TR).
• EF-2000 Typhoon qualification or previous experience.
• UAV qualification/experience.

Qualifications:

• Valid EASA CAT 1 Test Pilot rating (USAF TPS and USNTPS qualifications are also valid).
• EASA CPL / ATPL (A).
• Additional valued qualifications: ME, IR, UPRT & MCC.
• EASA Class 1 Medical.
• Proficiency in English (ICAO Level 4 or above).
• NATO SECRET Security Clearance and SP National Clearance for SIRTAP & FCAS.
• An engineering degree or master's degree is a plus.
