Overview

You are responsible for developing and driving exciting solutions in the areas of data engineering, analytics and machine learning (ML) to boost the relevance of search algorithms for customers browsing category pages, brand pages or triggering a full-text search in online shops or apps from the MediaMarktSaturn group. You will collaborate with data scientists, engineers and analysts to design and deliver ML-powered solutions, including hybrid search models, NLP, recommendations, anomaly detection and other advanced techniques, with a strong focus on data preparation, search relevance, KPI tracking and analytics to ensure customers quickly find exactly what they need.

Responsibilities

• You own and drive the product roadmap and backlog for ML-driven search relevance, aligned with business and enterprise strategy.
• You partner with other product owners, search managers, analysts and stakeholders across countries to capture business requirements and translate them into actionable search improvements.
• You translate company strategy into actionable tasks in the area of search and build a solid bridge between business units using the search engine (and its features) and the DevOps team developing the product.

Your Profile

• You have completed studies in informatics, business informatics, computer science, physics, mathematics or any related discipline.
• You have proven understanding of machine learning algorithms and/or processes related to the model development lifecycle and want to learn more, e.g., in areas such as search intent recognition/prediction, KPI anomaly detection & reporting.
• You possess a high level of technical understanding and can grasp new tasks and highly complex subjects quickly, while being able to think business in an environment full of interdependencies.
• Knowledge of ML frameworks, SQL and/or Python is a plus.
• Experience in Agile product development; background in e-commerce and search technologies is an advantage.
• You are reliable, motivated and bring solid communication skills, the right team spirit, ambition to innovate and to take search relevance to the next level, with flexibility of working remotely and/or in our offices in Munich and Ingolstadt.
• You are fluent in English. German is a plus.
