Job summary

Ashby in Spain is seeking an Engineering Manager to build a high-performance team and culture where engineers own their problems and drive outcomes. You will help engineers develop their skills, set clear expectations, and foster a collaborative environment that values both technical excellence and leadership.

You will focus on staffing, coaching, and aligning teams with product strategy, while staying hands-on and coding when needed.

Qualifications

• Experience leading software engineering teams.
• Ability to balance management with hands-on coding.
• Strong communication with engineers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide feedback on product and technical specs to help engineers identify where to cut scope or improve quality.
• Grow engineers to the point where they can take large, loosely defined projects, and deliver them with little intervention.
• Jump into our systems and code to debug a customer issue, ship a small bug fix, or improve our developer experience.
• Improve how we generate and simulate data in demo accounts to keep the codebase aligned with business needs.
