Job summary

IQVIA MedTech is seeking an experienced Safety leader to oversee a growing team responsible for safety activities supporting Medical Device clinical studies in Europe. You will provide technical and operational leadership for EU safety reporting, team management, client delivery, and financial oversight, guiding the Safety organization as the portfolio grows.

This role focuses on expedited and periodic safety reporting to EU Ethics Committees and Competent Authorities, annual progress reporting,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in health or life sciences, or equivalent.
• 10+ years of progressive Safety experience in a CRO or Medical Device setting.
• Experience supporting Medical Device clinical studies.
• Working knowledge of EU medical device safety reporting and ethics/authorities interactions.
• 3–5 years in leadership, people management, or line-management roles.
• Experience delivering client-facing safety services and managing senior stakeholders.
• Strong ability to manage priorities in a complex, matrixed environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior leadership for safety activities supporting European studies.
• Ensure expedited and periodic EU safety reporting to ethics committees and authorities.
• Oversee preparation of annual and periodic safety/progress reports.
• Serve as Safety SME for clients and internal teams.
• Guide compliance with European safety requirements and contractual obligations.
• Collaborate with US Safety and cross-functional leaders to resolve issues.
• Lead and develop Safety Specialists and Managers as the team grows.
• Allocate staffing, coaching, and performance management across the team.
• Maintain strong client relationships and governance for Safety programs.
• Manage safety program scope, timelines, quality, and deliverables.
