Job summary

NES Fircroft is seeking a Field Service Engineer to lead complex service operations across multiple data center locations. The role involves extensive travel (4–6 weeks at a time) followed by a rotation home, with a focus on power systems, relay testing and troubleshooting.

You will mentor junior staff and act as a technical expert in the field. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with switchgear, transformers and other electrical equipment and is able to operate and interpret results

Qualifications

Experience in field service roles involving power systems and electrical testing.
Hands-on experience with switchgear, transformers and related equipment.
Willingness and ability to travel for extended periods (4–6 weeks) with rotations home.

Responsibilities

Lead and perform complex field service operations and troubleshooting tasks.
Apply engineering methods to modify customer drawings and schematics.
Conduct relay testing (electro-mechanical and solid-state) and PLC programming read/write.
Test low/medium voltage circuit breakers and perform utility system analysis.
Operate test equipment and supervise on-site activities ensuring safety and standards.
Mentor junior associates and serve as technical SME in key areas.
Work with and troubleshoot, install, commission switchgear, transformers and other power delivery equipment.
