Research Scientist at IQAC-CSIC and CIBER-BBN: Nanomedicine for Therapeutic Applications

The group of Nanomedicine for Therapeutic Applications (NM4T) at the Institute for Advanced Chemistry of Catalonia (IQAC-CSIC) is looking for 2 PhD candidates to apply for several competitive PhD fellowships.

Eligibility Criteria: Applicants must:
  • Be citizens of an EU country or hold a valid EU residency permit
  • Have obtained or be on track to complete a Master’s degree in biomedical sciences (e.g., applied chemistry, biotechnology, biochemistry, immunology, translational medicine) between Jan 1, 2022 – Sept 15, 2025
  • Have a strong academic background (Degree’s & Master's GPA > 8 / 10 preferred)
Professional Experience:

Previous experience in laboratories working with cell cultures, nanomaterials, extracellular vesicles, and AI will be valuable. Independent thinking, a collaborative mindset, and strong written and verbal communication skills in English are required.

Funding Opportunities:
  • CSIC’s JAE INTRO and JAE ICU grants: Short-term fellowships (5–7 months) to familiarize candidates with the project while preparing applications for longer-term PhD funding.
  • AGAUR’s FI-STEP call: Funding for PhD candidates for 3 years.

Additional funding options may be available depending on the candidate’s background, eligibility, and preferred timeline.
