The Role :

As Employee Relations Specialist for the Iberia region, you’ll be a trusted advisor on employee relations matters, working together with the current Employee Relations Specialist. You’ll support our people managers and colleagues through complex situations with care—ensuring compliance with local labor laws while contributing to a positive and inclusive working environment. This is a stable, full-time role that offers the flexibility and balance often hard to find in private practice.

What We’re Looking For :

  • 6+ years of experience advising on employment law matters within a company or at least 4 years in a law firm’s employment practice
  • Experience working in a company’s internal HR or legal team is valued
  • Direct experience managing employee relations matters involving a Works Council or participating in collective conflict processes
  • Fluent in Spanish and English (both written and spoken)
  • Strong understanding of Spanish labor law; knowledge of Portuguese labor law is a bonus
  • Comfortable managing sensitive matters with confidentiality and emotional intelligence
  • Clear communicator, confident offering guidance to both HR and business teams
  • Resilient, well-organized, and comfortable creating structure while adapting to a changing environment

Location and Ways of Working :

This role is based in our Barcelona office, located at Carrer d'Àlaba, 111, 08018 Barcelona, in the heart of the city’s 22@ innovation district. We follow a hybrid working model at Sage. You’ll be expected to work three days per week from the office, with the flexibility to work remotely for the remaining two days. This approach helps us stay connected as a team while still supporting individual focus and balance.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with the current ER Specialist as main contact for employee relations issues across Spain and Portugal.
  • Address concerns and workplace issues with discretion and professionalism
  • Conduct internal investigations and manage disciplinary processes when needed
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws and keep internal stakeholders informed of any changes
