Thales Alenia Space in Madrid Tres Cantos is seeking an Electro-Optical Payload Systems Engineer to define, develop and validate the image acquisition chain for space-based optical instruments. You will work on FPGA firmware, readout electronics, and sensor interfaces within a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires a Master's in Engineering and at least 5 years in electronics design, with a strong background in image sensors, high-speed interfaces and lab testing.

Formación

• Master's degree in Engineering, ideally specialized in Electrical Engineering with a focus on electro-optical systems.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electronics design, integration and validation.
• Experience with FPGA development (firmware development, timing/sequencing, high-speed interfaces).

Responsabilidades

• Define the architecture of the video acquisition chain.
• Derive and specify requirements for image acquisition chain components.
• Specification of readout electronics hardware.
• Specification of FPGA firmware for detector control and video chain interfacing.
• Interface definition with onboard data handling systems.
• Provide technical support during procurement of image sensors and related electronics.
• Lead the characterization of image sensors and acquisition chain performance.
• Develop test plans and measurement protocols for image sensors.
• Support integration of optical sensors into focal planes and interfacing with front-end electronics.
• Prepare technical documentation for design reviews and verification activities.
