Parzy Consulting is seeking a skilled Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Consultant for a part-time contract role based onsite in Madrid, Spain .This part-time onsite role (up to 20 hours per week) involves managing the EHS program for a small quality control (QC) laboratory and supporting employees in commercial office settings . The consultant will play a key role in collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders and leadership teams to ensure effective EHS program implementation for a multinational company operating in Spain. The ideal candidate will have knowledge in environmental compliance programs, occupational health and safety programs, experience working in quality control labs and GMP environments.
- Manage and oversee EHS programs for a QC lab and commercial office spaces
- Provide technical guidance on environmental compliance, occupational health, safety and biosafety related items.
- Manages the QC lab and commercial offices EHS programs.
- Maintains the sites Legal EHS requirements applicable to Spain & Madrid.
- Leads the EHS Management System implementation (ISO 14001 / 45001) through collaboration with the site.
- Oversees the EHS Risk Management Program and use of Risk Assessment methodology.
- EHS Program implementation in a multinational company which includes site procedure creation.
- Manages the Chemical Safety Program with processes at the site.
- Provides EHS Management of high-risk activities (e.g. LOTO, Working at heights, hot work).
- Contractor Safety Management (CAE)
- Manages EHS Training development, deployment and sustainment.
- EHS Incident Management including performing root cause investigations and emergency response.
Education
- BS / MS or equivalent in environmental sciences, safety, occupational health, engineering, or related science degree is a plus.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 5+ years’ experience with environmental, health and safety in a QC laboratory, preferably in a GMP environment.
- Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing written EHS programs with training materials preferred.
- Experience with ISO 14001 and 45001 is a plus.
- Biological Safety experience is a plus.
- Understanding of the relevant local, state, and federal regulations and how they apply to the specific industry is required.
- Spanish & English fluent (C1) is required.
- ATEX is a plus.
- Office Safety experience is a plus.
- Biological Safety experience is a plus.
- Leadership & management skills to represent EHS on site and to partner with site leadership & key stakeholders.
- Collaborates and influences broadly cross-functionally.
- Strong oral and written communication skills required.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced company environment with minimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities.
