Our client’s business comprises the engineering, planning, installation, and commissioning of evaporation / distillation units for the chemical, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, oil, and solvent recovery industries.
The group also designs, produces, and markets exclusive equipment-based solutions using enameled and stainless steel, special alloys, and technologies based on borosilicate glass.
To support our expansion, we wish to incorporate an Engineering Project Manager, based in our office as an intermediate position between the Engineering Director and the Engineers team, providing assistance to the Engineering Director.
Required education: Industrial or Chemical Engineering degree, or similar.
Required languages: Fluent in Spanish and English.
Required profile: - Team work management (empathy and closeness to the team) - Time management - Excellent communication skills both oral and written (internal team and customers / suppliers) - Strong problem-solving skills.
Required experience: - At least 5 years of experience in chemical process projects, developed in chemical engineering, installers, manufacturers of machinery for chemical processes in sectors like chemical, pharma, oil, solvent recovery, cosmetic, or natural ingredients. - At least five years of demonstrable experience in Project Management leading a team/department in chemical engineering. - Experience in international projects is a plus. - Advanced user of MS software suites. - Experience in customer and supplier relationships. The position reports to the Engineering Director and manages Project Managers, technical managers, and designer draftsmen. Mobility is estimated at approximately 85% office work and 15% site/travel, increasing slightly with experience.
Responsibilities include supplier communication (negotiating prices and delivery times, manufacturing follow-up), organizing teamwork for inspections, commissioning, start-up, and project development, managing laboratory and pilot tests, change control, and non-conformity monitoring. It also involves preparing and following up on planning meetings and collaborating on recruitment if necessary.
Technical Aspects: Development and review of P&ID drafts, static and dynamic equipment specifications, instrument specifications, equipment drawings, control specifications, layouts, and plant operation manuals. Review of technical calculations (Valuable H TRI, Aspen knowledge). Control specification performance (valuable). Supervision of FAT, commissioning, and start-up with the customer.
