Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) in Barcelona seeks an Engineering Manager for Speech, Language Technologies. You will lead a team of ML engineers and computational linguists in a high-performance computing environment, shaping DL initiatives in speech processing and potential audio LLM efforts.

The role requires leadership, deep learning expertise in speech, and experience with project management. English fluency is essential, with Spanish and Catalan language skills advantageous.

Qualifications

• 2+ years leading engineering teams in relevant areas.
• 4+ years in deep learning frameworks and related areas.
• Published papers on deep learning, specifically in speech.
• Experience in project management and product development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of ML engineers, data engineers and computational linguists.
• Take ownership of deliveries, including prototypes and software.
• Write requirement documents for prototype development for external providers.
• Participate in technical meetings with collaborators and gather requirements.
• Moderate technical discussions and set priorities for deliveries.
• Mentor junior team members for career growth and development.
• Apply for research projects.
