Embat, a Madrid-based SaaS company, is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead one or more engineering teams, mentor engineers, and own delivery. You’ll champion engineering excellence, guide architecture, and collaborate with Product and Design for impactful features.

Fluent in English and Spanish, you’ll drive high-quality product delivery, foster a safe, inclusive culture, and grow the team in a hybrid work model with 40% remote.

• Inspire and develop your team: Mentor engineers through regular 1:1s, career development conversations, and performance feedback.
• Own delivery and execution: Ensure your team delivers high-quality software on time, aligned with company goals.
• Champion process and engineering excellence: Continuously improve development processes, team workflows, and coding standards.
• Provide technical guidance: Support architectural decisions, guide complex technical challenges, and ensure scalability and robustness across systems.
• Collaborate across functions: Partner with Product Managers, Designers, and other teams to ensure alignment and seamless integration of features.
• Grow the team: Actively participate in recruiting, interviews, and جذب top talent.

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for an Engineering Manager, a leader who combines technical expertise, people development, and delivery ownership. You’ll lead one or more engineering teams, inspiring them to build exceptional products, grow as professionals, and deliver excellence.

Our tech stack is second to none, so you’ll be ready to shoot to the moon and beyond: our Frontend is built with ReactJS, enabling fast, scalable development with strong resiliency. We use Figma to design our proprietary Design System and UI Kit. Our Backend runs on NodeJS, and the platform is powered by Google GCP, with Firebase as our center of command.

What will you do?

As an Engineering Manager at Embat, you will:

• Inspire and develop your team: Mentor engineers through regular 1:1s, career development conversations, and performance feedback. Foster a supportive, inclusive, and high-performing environment.
• Own delivery and execution: Ensure your team delivers high-quality software on time, aligned with company goals. Remove blockers and optimize workflows for efficiency.
• Champion process and engineering excellence: Continuously improve development processes, team workflows, and coding standards. Advocate for best practices and agile methodologies.
• Provide technical guidance: Support architectural decisions, guide complex technical challenges, and ensure scalability and robustness across systems.
• Collaborate across functions: Partner with Product Managers, Designers, and other teams to ensure alignment, clear communication, and seamless integration of features.
• Grow the team: Actively participate in recruiting, conducting interviews, assessing technical and cultural fit, and helping attract top talent.
• Ensure operational excellence: Oversee the health, scalability, and reliability of your team’s systems. Promote a culture of operational awareness.
• Be a cultural ambassador: Uphold Embat’s values (ambition, teamwork, and humility) in everything you do.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading teams and delivering complex software products in agile environments.
• Strong passion for mentoring and coaching engineers at different career stages.
• Solid technical foundation, capable of guiding teams on architecture, performance, and scalability.
• Ability to drive results through others while fostering a collaborative, psychologically safe culture.
• Continuous improvement mindset focused on engineering excellence and process optimization.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Fluency in English and Spanish.
• Based in Spain (ideally Madrid) or willing to relocate.

Nice-to-haves:

• Familiarity with our stack: React, Redux, NodeJS, MongoDB, Python, GCP, Gitlab CI/CD.
• Experience in fintech products or fast-paced startup environments.
• Contributions to open-source projects.
• International experience and/or additional languages.
