Job summary

Docplanner is building an AI-native healthcare journey across Marketplace, Patient Engagement and Payments, serving hundreds of millions of interactions.

As Engineering Director you will own the strategy and roadmap for all three areas, shaping AI-enabled discovery, booking, engagement and payments.

You will lead a large, high-trust engineering team, partner with Product and Design, and set standards for AI output, security and quality across 13 markets.

Qualifications

• Experience leading multi-team engineering organisations through managers.
• Fluency with AI-assisted development and clear judgment about its strengths, limits and risks.
• A product mindset connecting engineering strategy to customer outcomes and business results.
• Technical depth across architecture, delivery, reliability and security.
• Strong partnership skills with Product, Design, Data and business leaders, and comfort with executives and ambiguity.
• Experience with marketplaces and complex, high-stakes products where reliability, privacy and security matter.

Responsibilities

• Set the direction: own the engineering strategy and roadmap across all three areas.
• Build product builders: create a strong engineering team with clear ownership and leadership bench.
• Turn AI into a product: collaborate with Product and Design to bring AI into search, booking, engagement, continuity of care and payments.
• Continue rewiring how engineering works: set standards for AI output quality, security and privacy.
• Own the architecture: guide design and engineering standards across the portfolio.
• Remove friction at its source: establish priorities and simple delivery metrics to improve impact.
• Shape company-wide tech: align with peers on shared platforms and cross-cutting decisions.
• You are hands-on: participate in design and code reviews and prototype where needed.
