The role involves technical analysis, collaboration with engineering teams, and maintaining customer relations. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in a technical field and at least one year of relevant experience, with strong communication skills in English and Spanish.

  • Knowledge of composite production methods and engineering.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken); Spanish/Catalan required.

Descripción del empleo

The Proposal Engineer is responsible for translating the specifications provided by a prospect client into a ROM (Rough Order of Magnitude) or FFP (Fixed Firm Price) proposal.

The Proposal Engineer extracts key parameters from the client proposal and complements the information to create a sound proposal.

The Proposal Engineer communicates with Process Engineers to define the processes involved in the proposal and with Suppliers to obtain costing schemes for the proposal to be built.

The main activities of the Proposal Engineer include preliminary evaluation of proposals in terms of structural, thermal, and process analysis, cost build-up of the proposal, and standardization of processes within the company.

The Proposal Engineer will also support the sales team with marketing activities and representation at trade shows worldwide as needed.

Responsibilities / Nature of Work
  • CRM, account management & customer relations
  • Update CRM database as needed
  • Produce quotes and proposals, manage internal supplier processes (quotation requests, supplier database updates)
  • Compile and apply for internal acquisition budgets
  • Obtain quotations from potential suppliers
  • Maintain operational figures / cost database
  • Perform preliminary analysis of products for proposals
  • Design preliminary tools, moulds, jigs, and other needs for proposals
  • Coordinate with Engineering Team to define manufacturing strategies and identify risk points
  • Collaborate with engineering team to define strategies for each proposal
  • Transfer necessary information from client specifications to proposals and vice versa
  • Gather and reflect all relevant information from engineering, client specs, operations, and supply chain into quotes and proposals

Internal Communication
  • Present proposals and preliminary analyses to the Commercial Director
  • Collaborate with Process Engineers for project definition
  • Compile all necessary internal and external information to create project plans
External Communication

The Proposal Engineer serves as a visible representative of the company to clients, maintaining a professional presence and communication standards. They are responsible for writing clear, understandable quotes and proposals for clients.

Skills and Knowledge
  • Education : Minimum bachelor’s degree in a technical field
  • Experience : At least 1 year in an industrial sales environment or related profession, preferably in the composite industry
  • Other : Knowledge of composite production methods and engineering; proficiency in English (written and spoken); Spanish / Catalan language skills are required; French and German are advantageous
