This role works within the Regional Engineering team reporting to the Lead Engineer or Technical / Engineering Manager. Guided by more senior engineers where appropriate, they take responsibility for day-to-day technical support to the country or region. This includes product selection, specification, troubleshooting, and sometimes liaising with customers with support from Sales and Aftermarket.
Main Responsibilities :
- Deliver technical proposals / drawings to our Sales and Service teams and engineered-to-order designs to our Customer Operations teams on time and to the highest standard.
- Provide technical support to the entire organization; working in line with Engineering Solutions standards, procedures, and policies guided by Lead Engineer.
- Provide technical documentation / calculations for customer orders / quotations requirements and for solving failures.
- Meet with QEH&S company policies.
- Manage and report personal workload, forecast job lead times to meet customer and departmental objectives.
- Provide day-to-day technical support to Regional Sales & Reliability, Procurement Operations, and Service Centre in your region. Interact frequently with internal management concerning projects, engineering decisions, scheduling requirements, and contractual clarifications. Report any retrofit or upgrade opportunity.
- Work with external customers / suppliers supported by Sales and Service / Procurement as appropriate and guided by Senior Engineer or Regional Engineer Manager.
- Manage Engineering activities in coordination with GDC for creating, revising drawings, and scanning activities guided by Lead Engineer or Regional Engineering Manager.
- Review & process application requests / projects received.
- Technical selection of standard WS WSS couplings from the JC product portfolio supported by a Lead Engineer or Regional Engineering Manager.
- Generate engineering proposals, CAD, specifications according to customer expectations and to aid liaison with GDC supported by a Lead Engineer or Regional Engineering Manager.
- Perform calculations (seal leakage, heat generation, balance temp, flow rates, etc.) and calculations for couplings, WSS, and filtration.
- Produce complete and informative drawing office requests and provide application guidance to designers for layout (GA) and detail drawings.
- Raise / process Global Change Notice (GCN) requests.
- Approve / reject purchase or manufacture of fabricated parts not to drawing specification.
- Conduct detailed failure analysis activities including investigation, reporting, and resolution supported by Lead Engineer or Regional Engineering Manager, usually at Service Centre.
- Deliver detailed technical presentations to customers to support Sales team.
- Participate in retrofitting activities, supporting Engineering activities mainly in Service Centre, guided by Lead Engineer or Regional Engineering Manager.
- Collaborate with 3D Scanning activities.
- Work closely with the Training and Enablement team to provide technical training to employees and customers.
Qualifications :
- Degree qualified Engineer BEng, MEng, or equivalent, possibly with ongoing application for professional membership or chartership (e.g., MIMechE, CEng).
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of related experience; or equivalent professional experience.
- Technical Skills: MS Office, MS Outlook, CAD, FEA, CFD.
