This role operates within the Regional Engineering team, reporting to the Lead Engineer or Technical/Engineering Manager. Under guidance from senior engineers, the individual is responsible for providing day-to-day technical support to the country or region. This includes product selection, specification, troubleshooting, and occasional customer liaison, with support from Sales and Aftermarket.
Main Responsibilities :
- Deliver technical proposals, drawings, and engineered-to-order designs to Sales, Service, and Customer Operations teams on schedule and to high standards.
- Provide technical support across the organization, adhering to Engineering Solutions standards, procedures, and policies, guided by the Lead Engineer.
- Create technical documentation and calculations for customer orders, quotations, and failure analysis.
- Comply with QEH&S company policies.
- Manage personal workload, forecast job lead times, and meet customer and departmental objectives.
- Offer technical support to Regional Sales, Reliability, Procurement, and Service Centre teams. Engage with management on projects, engineering decisions, scheduling, and contracts. Identify retrofit or upgrade opportunities.
- Collaborate with external customers and suppliers, supported by Sales and Service or Procurement, under the guidance of Senior or Regional Engineers.
- Coordinate engineering activities with GDC, including drawing creation, revision, and scanning, under guidance.
- Review and process application requests and projects.
- Select standard WS WSS couplings from the JC product portfolio, supported by a Lead Engineer or Regional Manager.
- Generate engineering proposals, CAD drawings, and specifications aligned with customer expectations and facilitate liaison with GDC.
- Perform calculations related to seals, heat, flow, and other parameters for couplings, WSS, and filtration.
- Create comprehensive drawing requests and provide application guidance for layout and detailed drawings.
- Manage Global Change Notice (GCN) requests.
- Approve or reject purchase or fabrication of parts not meeting specifications.
- Conduct failure analysis activities, including investigation, reporting, and resolution, supported by senior staff.
- Deliver technical presentations to customers to support sales efforts.
- Participate in retrofitting projects, mainly supporting engineering activities at the Service Centre.
- Engage with 3D scanning activities.
- Work with the Training and Enablement team to deliver technical training to employees and customers.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (BEng, MEng) or equivalent, with ongoing application for professional membership or chartership (e.g., MIMechE, CEng).
- Typically, at least 2 years of related experience or equivalent professional experience.
- Technical Skills : MS Office, MS Outlook, CAD, FEA, CFD.
