Reporting to the Energy Markets Manager and based in Madrid, we are looking for an Energy Markets Analyst.

The selected professional will leverage market expertise and data analysis to drive strategic decisions and ensure market stability across X-ELIO's European operations, with emphasis on solar energy investments.

What will you do?

1. Market Intelligence: Drawing on a solid understanding of energy market fundamentals, including commodity price evolution and renewable energy penetration, develop energy market insights and projections to support investments and commercial strategies for solar and storage energy projects in international markets.
2. Energy Policy and Regulation: Monitoring key industry trends, policy developments, and regulatory bodies with major impact on renewable energy investments and operational projects.
3. Strategy and Data Analytics: Conducting high-quality quantitative analysis to identify market patterns and trends, translating findings into strategic positioning for the company such as selecting the best areas for new investments and identifying opportunities for growth in new markets.
4. Revenue Optimization: Assessing market exposures and risk mitigation for individual renewable energy assets and portfolios.
5. Due Diligence Support: Developing and building conviction around revenue projections for renewable asset portfolios and project acquisition opportunities through a combination of in-house analysis and managing external consultants in coordination with investment funds and banks.

What do we need?

• At least 4 years of experience in energy market analysis, including a deep understanding of market fundamentals, design, policy, regulation, and commercial structures.
• Analytical skills applied to wholesale electricity market fundamentals and market modelling. Ability to collect, analyse, and interpret complex quantitative data and information.
• Ability to take ownership of work and deliver results in a team-oriented environment.
• Flexibility and ability to handle multitasking activities simultaneously.
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Spanish.
• Excellent communication skills to convey findings effectively to stakeholders.
