Embedded Linux Field Engineering Manager

Position Summary

We are hiring an Embedded Linux Field Engineering Manager to lead a regionally-focused team of Field Engineers in Presales and Professional Services. You will assist customers with solution architecture, design, and delivery.

Location: This is a remote role, managing a team in one of three Geos: Americas, EMEA, or APAC. You should be located in one of these regions.

Role Responsibilities

  1. Lead and develop a team of Field Engineers across Presales and Professional Services.
  2. Promote our technologies and serve as a trusted advisor to solve customer problems.
  3. Manage team remotely within a single major time zone.
  4. Mentor, coach, and provide career development feedback.
  5. Monitor team health indicators and implement disciplined engineering processes.
  6. Represent your team and products to stakeholders, partners, and customers.
  7. Develop and promote best engineering and organizational practices.
  8. Plan and oversee progress on goals and projects.
  9. Collaborate with leadership and other teams.

Candidate Requirements

  1. Strong academic background from high school through university.
  2. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  3. Extensive experience with embedded Linux (e.g., Yocto).
  4. Proficiency in at least one: Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust.
  5. Experience managing small teams and engaging with customers.
  6. Fluent in professional English communication.
  7. Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability.
  8. Results-driven with a personal commitment to commitments.
  9. Ability to articulate the business benefits of technology.
  10. Quick learner and humble in approach.

Desirable traits include RTOS experience, multilingual skills, and experience in remote, diverse, distributed companies.
