The ideal candidate will be a passionate and skilled educator with a strong record of teaching experience in primary education. They will have a degree in Education, preferably with a Master's degree or PhD. A background in teaching the Cambridge International Curriculum, British National Curriculum, or other international programs such as the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Teaching and Learning :
• Create engaging and inquiry-based lessons that foster curiosity and a student-centred approach to learning.
• Integrate education for sustainable development, project-based learning, outdoor and experiential learning into classroom activities to enhance student engagement and understanding.
• Promote play-based learning in the early years and ensure teaching reflects the developmental needs of younger students.
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity.
• Curriculum Planning and Assessment :
• Design, plan, and implement lessons across core subject areas, such as English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities, and Inquiry Time, ensuring a cross-curricular approach with specialist learning areas.
• Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and inform teaching strategies.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and manage student data to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency and alignment of curriculum planning and assessment practices.
• Character Development and Values-Based Education :
• Actively promote the school's guiding principles and core values through daily interactions and teaching practices.
• Model and instil values such as honesty, compassion, courage, and drive through classroom activities and community engagement.
• Student Wellbeing and Support :
• Prioritise the emotional and social wellbeing of students, ensuring they feel safe, valued, and supported in their learning environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues to address individual student needs and promote a holistic approach to student development.
• Collaboration and Community Building :
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan, deliver, and review teaching and learning programmes.
• Build meaningful relationships with students, families, and the wider community, ensuring open communication and strong partnerships.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues. They should be flexible, adaptable, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong organisational and time management skills are essential, as well as the ability to meet deadlines and prioritise tasks. Proficiency in English is required, with fluency in Spanish, Swedish, German, or another language being an asset. Additionally, the candidate should be knowledgeable about child protection policies and procedures, with a commitment to upholding the highest standards of safeguarding.
