Job summary

Thales Avionics, Inc. (AGS) in Madrid, Spain seeks an Electronics Production & Process Engineer to drive production process optimization for PCB assembly, testing, and subcontractor management.

The role requires collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, and QA to improve efficiency and quality. Advanced English and Spanish (French desirable) and at least 3 years in electronics manufacturing are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields (specialization in Electronics).
• Advanced level of English and Spanish (B2 or higher). French desirable.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in electronics production, manufacturing processes, and continuous improvement (defense/aeronautics/automotive preferred).
• Strong knowledge of IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, ESD and related standards.
• Experience with PLC/automation and data analysis tools (Power BI/Python) and digitalization initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize electronic production processes (PCB assembly, testing, subcontractor management).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure scalability, reliability, and alignment with product requirements.
• Analyze production data to identify improvement opportunities (lead time reduction, cost savings, defect minimization).

As an Electronics Production & Process Engineer , you will play a key role in the continuous improvement of our manufacturing systems, ensuring quality, efficiency, and compliance with standards. Your main responsibilities will include :

Main responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize electronic production processes (PCB assembly, testing, and subcontractor management).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure scalability, reliability, and alignment with product requirements.

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, ESD, etc.).
• Drive automation and digitalization initiatives (PLM/ERP systems, data analysis tools like Power BI/Python).
• Troubleshoot technical issues on the production line and propose innovative solutions for process enhancements.
• Develop technical documentation (procedures, reports, work instructions, and manuals).
• Lead technical projects from conception to implementation, ensuring on-time delivery and quality.
• Customer/results-oriented approach , with a focus on internal and external stakeholder satisfaction (including Thales as a key client).

Education

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields (with a specialization in Electronics).
• Advanced level of English and Spanish (B2 or higher). French is desirable.

Experience

We value at least 3 years of relevant experience in electronics production, manufacturing processes, and continuous improvement (valuable sectors : defense, aeronautics, or automotive industries)

Competences

Technical/functional skills

• Electronics : strong knowledge of digital/analog electronics and test systems/benches.
• Process Analysis: Ability to analyze assembly and testing processes for optimization.
• Standards & Compliance: Proficiency in IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, and quality standards.
• Software: CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ProEngineer/PTC Creo).
• PLM and ERP systems (e.g., Siemens Teamcenter, Oracle, SAP).

Manufacturing Processes

• PCB assembly and subcontractor management (machining, quality control).

• Lean manufacturing tools (5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping - VSM).
• Data analysis (Excel, Power BI, Python) and AI-driven process optimization.
