CIDETEC Surface Engineering is seeking an individual with extensive electronics knowledge to join its Smart & Functional Surfaces Unit. The role focuses on printed electronics, involving activities related to electronic control of printed elements.

CIDETEC is an international leader in surface engineering research and innovation, specializing in Coatings and Surface Treatments, Polymers and Composites, and Smart & Functional Surfaces. The researcher will work on developing training and industrial R&D projects, collaborating closely with leading companies in sectors such as aeronautics, automotive, and energy.

Your contribution

Join a cutting-edge research centre committed to sustainability and the circular economy. The centre has years of experience in revolutionizing surface technologies, from everyday materials to high-demand sectors like aeronautics and energy.

You will work on training and company transfer projects, managing multiple research lines simultaneously to optimize resources and results. Your work will involve hardware and software aspects of electronic control of PCBs and printed elements, with activities including:

  1. Reinforcing and promoting printed electronics research.
  2. Generating new ideas and concepts.
  3. Project management.
  4. Analyzing results, drafting reports, and preparing presentations.
  5. Supporting funding documentation preparation.

Requirements:

Education: Degree in Electronic Engineering or similar.

Languages: Fluent in spoken and written English.

Knowledge and Experience: Prior industry or project experience in micro-electronics, including:

  • Design of circuits/PCBs (Altium, EAGLE or similar).
  • Microcontroller programming (Microchip, ST, Infineon).
  • Design of semiconductor drivers.
  • Knowledge of EMC.
  • C and C++ coding.
  • Communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, Ethernet).
  • Prototype and validation methodologies (SIL, HIL).
  • Desktop application development (LabVIEW, Qt, Python).
  • 2D/3D CAD design.
  • Cloud databases and applications.
  • Electronic control development for sensors, lighting, etc.
  • Printed electronics design and validation.
