Job summary

Nord Gas Solutions seeks an Electrical Engineer to contribute to gas plant projects on LNG/LPG carriers, onshore and offshore. You will design systems, specify equipment, and prepare electrical documentation for bids and construction.

The role requires a degree in electrical engineering, 3+ years of relevant experience in maritime or process industries, knowledge of motors, VFDs, MCCs and instrumentation; familiarity with Class Society rules is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or masters degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in marine or process industry projects is preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical motors, VFDs, MCCs and related instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Participate in project execution and studies for gas plants on LNG/LPG carriers, onshore and offshore.
• Develop system designs and prepare engineering documentation.
• Specify equipment for purchase, evaluate bids, review vendor docs and follow up with suppliers.
• Ensure information flows across engineering disciplines.
• Prepare electrical documentation such as wiring diagrams, instrument lists and cable lists.
• Provide technical clarifications with customers, suppliers and yards; support commissioning and FATs.

Your responsibilitie

• Participation in project execution and studies for gas plants on LNG and LPG carriers, onshore and offshore
• Development of system design and preparation of engineering documentation
• Specify equipment for purchase, technical evaluation of bids, review of vendor documentation and supplier follow-up
• Ensure relevant technical information flows through other engineering disciplines
• Prepare electrical documentations like el. Wiring diagrams, Instrument list, cable list etc.
• Technical clarifications with customer, supplier, 3rd party (e.g. Class Society) and yard
• Technical support for commissioning and start-up activities, participate in FATs at Suppliers facilities

Our requirements

• BSc/MSc in electrical engineering or equivalent
• Experience from maritime, Oil & Gas and/or process industry engineering
• Technical knowledge of electrical motors, VFD, MCC, el. Cabinets, pressure /temperature /flow /level instruments, fire and gas detection systems etc.
• Familiarity with applicable Classification Societies rules for marine industry (DNV, BV, LRS, ABS etc.)
• Willingness to travel if needed, occasional business trips
• Ability to work in a multinational team
• Experience in use of AutoCad Electrical
• Fluent English language, both verbally and in writing
• Minimum 3 years of professional relevant experience
