This role involves collaboration across teams, maintaining language consistency, and supporting effective communication in Europe. The position can be performed remotely or based in Madrid.

The T&T Specialist: Spain is responsible for providing high-quality, timely translation and transcreation services for operational and consumer-facing departments at TJX Europe. This role is a 9-month interim position that can be based in Madrid or performed 100% remotely.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide high-quality translation and transcreation, ensuring projects are completed effectively and efficiently.
2. Work proactively and collaboratively within your language set and the wider T&T (Translation and Transcreation) team to ensure consistency in translations.
3. Participate actively in the broader Translation and Transcreation community.
4. Maintain glossaries, methods, and support terminology initiatives proactively.
5. Serve as an internal language resource to identify improvement opportunities and recommend enhancements to translation services and communications.
6. Collaborate with business partners to deliver localized documents.
7. Partner with relevant stakeholders to keep language and terminology current, leveraging business relationships and partnerships.
8. Ensure all information is accurate across markets, considering local exceptions.
9. Contribute to and adhere to a common tone of voice.
10. Support effective communication across Europe, ensuring message consistency across banners and languages as appropriate.
11. Take responsibility for personal development and support others to maximize their potential.
12. Stay curious about language trends within local markets to ensure ongoing relevance.

Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience

1. Native Euskeran and Castilian speaker with proficiency in English (business level).
2. Translation education with a strong linguistic background and at least 3 years of experience.
3. Agency or in-house T&T experience is desirable.
4. Passion for language.
5. Analytical and critical thinking skills.
6. Genuine interest in language and cultural evolution.
7. Excellent influencing skills, personal impact, and credibility.
8. Ability to think tactically and manage ambiguity when necessary.
9. Strong communication skills, with the ability to read, write, interpret information accurately, and demonstrate excellent attention to detail and document structuring/editing skills.
