Context and Mission

The Computer Science Department at BSC focuses on machine architecture, programming models, performance tools, resource management, Big Data, and AI. The HPAI group specializes in AI within High-Performance Computing, collaborating with industry and European projects, with main research lines in large language models, agent systems, explainability, and ethics.

The successful candidate will contribute to AIXPERT, a European project aimed at making AI systems more explainable, robust, and trustworthy, working on tools and infrastructure involving LLMs, multi-agent systems, knowledge graphs, and RAG.

The role offers access to advanced HPC infrastructure and collaboration opportunities at international levels.

Key Duties

• Design and develop software solutions for the AIXPERT project.
• Build and maintain core platform components : agent systems, explainability features, RAG-based memory, APIs.
• Engage with stakeholders to understand platform needs and assist in planning.
• Test the platform across various use cases.
• Participate in research dissemination activities.
• Qualifications : Master’s degree or equivalent, preferably in AI.
• Essential Skills : Python programming, software engineering, machine learning, CI / CD, project management.
• Additional Skills : Knowledge of software architecture trends, research activities, frontend frameworks (React, Typescript), LLMs, agent systems, knowledge graphs, explainable AI, fluency in English.
• Competencies : Research exploration, communication, teamwork.
