Descripción del empleo

Ready to lead with heart, drive, and a hands-on mindset?

Mjølner Madrid is growing and we're looking for a practical leader to head up our third department. Someone who leads by example, takes action without waiting to be asked, and genuinely enjoys building and supporting a strong, autonomous team as a servant leader.

A bit about us

We develop your business through IT, together

Mjølner is an IT house specializing in software, digitalization, and end-to-end solutions. Although we love technology, we put business first. At our offices in Denmark and Spain, we are a collective of 400 specialists.

When the task is challenging, and the solution is not obvious, we are a good choice. This has been the case since nine computer scientists from Aarhus University founded Mjølner in 1988. Since then, we have turned customers’ complex challenges into concrete, high-quality IT solutions.

Like the famous hammer whose name we bear, we hit the mark and come back stronger. We have the best colleagues because we offer a work home. An environment characterized by community, good professional dialogues, and a strong culture. We enjoy going to work, but we also value our leisure time and understand the importance of balance.

Since opening our Madrid office 18 months ago, we've been on an exciting growth journey. Now, it's time to welcome a new Department Manager to lead the way for our next chapter.

We’re rooted in Scandinavian values of low hierarchy, high trust, clear communication, and work-life balance.

What you’ll do

  • Lead a department of IT specialists consisting of developers, project managers, and consultants, and help them thrive, grow, and deliver real value.
  • Recruit and onboard new talent in close collaboration with our Danish recruitment team.
  • Ensure quality delivery to clients, gather feedback from stakeholders, and support team performance.
  • Set the tone for a collaborative, respectful, and accountable team culture.
  • Get your hands dirty where needed, whether that’s helping with office tasks, keeping the vibe positive, or organizing a team event.

This is not a “desk-only” leadership role. It’s for someone who enjoys taking initiative, solving problems on the go, and working shoulder-to-shoulder with their team.

You’ll also:

  • Travel to Denmark 4 to 6 times per year for internal events and customer meetings.
  • Work closely with the Spain GM (also your direct manager), who is part of Mjølner’s top leadership.

What you bring

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has a bias toward action: you get things moving, you solve problems, and you don’t wait to be told what to do.
  • Is down-to-earth and humble, but confident in leading and making decisions.
  • Has a couple of years of leadership experience, ideally from the IT or tech industry.
  • Understands that team success is leadership success, and puts people first.
  • Communicates clearly, sets direction, and follows through.
  • Is organized, responsible, and able to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Thrives in environments where autonomy and ownership are expected and not just encouraged.

What you get

  • A strong support network from our leadership team and leadership guild in Denmark.
  • A hybrid work setup of 2–3 days in the office (Goya 8, Madrid), the rest remote.
  • 30 vacation days, private medical insurance, and a yearly bonus.
  • True work-life balance. We mean it, no culture of overtime here.
  • A people-first culture and a role where you’ll grow as a leader and make a real impact.

Let’s talk

We’re interviewing on a rolling basis, with final rounds in late June at our Madrid office.

So, are you ready to lead with action, care, and impact?

Apply now and let’s build something great together.
