About the Data Engineering team :

Become a part of an agile team of data specialists taking care of massive data and groundbreaking technologies. Your work will manage and grow our current data platform used by hundreds of data engineers, data/business analysts, and data scientists across Europe. You will be part of a central team across Lisbon, Berlin, Barcelona, and Poznan, focusing on automating data acquisition, democratizing data access, building streaming architectures, and improving data taxonomy for better platform and product integration.

You will lead a business domain technically, contribute to data architecture and platform definition, mentor junior members, and support strategic goals such as adopting data as a product and enabling data streaming for faster decisions.

Reporting to the Data Platform Engineering Manager within the Data Platform and Services team.

Responsibilities include:

1. Collaborating with analytics, data science, and product teams to support data-driven decisions.
2. Architecting and developing scalable data platform solutions for various domains.
3. Supporting domain-oriented data teams within the Data Mesh framework.
4. Identifying and implementing improvements through debugging and performance tuning.
5. Researching and adopting new big data technologies.
6. Monitoring data ecosystem performance and optimizing data products.
7. Ensuring governance, security, and compliance of data processes.

Minimum qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience with data platforms, pipelines, and stakeholder collaboration.
• Experience designing scalable, governed data architectures focusing on storage and performance.
• Proficiency with cloud data technologies, especially AWS.
• Strong skills in Python and SQL, and experience with Spark and Scala.
• Experience with Redshift, Presto/Trino, Hive/Glue, Kafka, Athena.
• Familiarity with AWS services like S3, DynamoDB, SQS, EC2, Kinesis, Lambda, EMR.
• Knowledge of GitLab, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Airflow, dbt, and open table formats.
• Understanding of the Data Mesh paradigm.
• Excellent English communication skills.
