About the Role

As an Operations Planner, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective planning and execution of operational activities across Europe and Asia. This position requires you to balance strategic coordination between these regions, optimizing resources and ensuring alignment between various operational needs. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing operational plans that meet the unique demands of both regions, ensuring that projects and processes run smoothly across all stages. This is a highly cross-functional role that requires excellent communication, strategic thinking, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Planning : Develop and manage operational plans to support the company’s strategic objectives across Europe and Asia, ensuring that all regional requirements are met efficiently and effectively.
  • Cross-Regional Coordination : Act as the bridge between European and Asian teams to ensure alignment on operations, schedules, resources, and priorities.
  • Resource Allocation and Optimization : Manage and allocate resources between regions, ensuring that operational activities are balanced and optimized across both Europe and Asia to meet production timelines and quality standards.
  • Forecasting and Scheduling : Analyze and forecast demand for materials, labor, and equipment across both regions, working closely with supply chain, logistics, and procurement teams to ensure timely availability of resources.
  • Process Integration : Develop and integrate operational processes that accommodate the needs and regulations of both European and Asian markets, ensuring consistency and efficiency in all operations.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration : Work closely with key internal stakeholders, including the production, logistics, engineering, and procurement teams, to ensure all operations are coordinated and executed as planned.
  • Risk Management : Identify potential risks in the operational plans and proactively work to mitigate any issues that may arise, including delays, resource shortages, and unforeseen circumstances.
  • Continuous Improvement : Drive continuous improvement initiatives across both regions, identifying areas for process optimization, cost reduction, and efficiency gains.
  • Performance Monitoring : Track operational performance metrics across both regions, providing regular reports and updates to senior management regarding the status of operations, potential issues, and areas for improvement.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance : Ensure all operational activities comply with local regulations, quality standards, and company policies in both European and Asian markets.
  • Project Management : Lead or assist in managing regional projects, from planning to execution, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in line with operational objectives.
  • Client Interaction : When needed, you will be required to engage with clients to defend and explain the operational planning, ensuring alignment on expectations and timelines.
  • Critical Thinking and Decision-Making : This role requires a strong ability to critically assess situations and make decisions that positively impact operational efficiency and meet strategic objectives.
  • Planning Knowledge : As part of this role, you will be expected to apply a solid understanding of planning methodologies, including expertise in GANTT charts to manage and visualize operational timelines effectively.
  • Degree : Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience : +5 years of experience in operations planning, project management, or supply chain management, with a focus on cross-regional or international operations. Experience with PMI (Project Management Institute) methodologies is highly desirable. Experience working with European and Asian markets is a significant advantage.
  • Skills : Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities across different regions. Ability to interact with clients and defend planning processes when needed.
  • Knowledge : Deep understanding of operational processes, supply chain management, forecasting, and scheduling. Familiarity with cross-cultural business practices and regional regulations (Europe and Asia) is essential.
  • Tools : Proficiency in operations planning software, ERP systems, and tools for demand forecasting and scheduling. Experience using GANTT charts and other planning tools for timeline management.
  • Languages : Fluent in English, both written and verbal. Proficiency in additional languages (particularly Asian languages) is a plus.
  • Availability to Travel : Willingness to travel frequently (up to 35-40% of the time) to various locations across Europe and Asia to ensure operational alignment and project execution.
  • Attributes : Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with strong critical thinking and decision-making capabilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
