Offer Description

IRB Barcelona seeks to recruit a Health and Safety Section Head, part of the People and Academic Affairs Department, to oversee its in-house Health and Safety Service and to develop a safe working environment in compliance with legal regulations, while promoting a strong culture of health and safety awareness across the institute.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage the in-house Health & Safety Service in collaboration with the external prevention service.
• Draft, update, and monitor Health & Safety documentation.
• Organize, coordinate, and monitor risk assessments, regular site inspections, emergency procedures, and the dissemination of information to all employees.
• Coordinate medical check-ups.
• Plan and monitor annual Health & Safety actions.
• Monitor, investigate, and report workplace accidents and incidents.
• Liaise with relevant authorities, organize, and conduct audits of the Health and Safety System.
• Manage and coordinate Health & Safety training.
• Provide expert advice, information, and assessment on Health and Safety issues.
• Coordinate Occupational Risk Prevention activities.
• Assess and oversee the Health and Safety Committees.
• Oversee the facility's biosafety management, ensuring adherence to established protocols, regulatory compliance, and promotion of a safe working environment.
• Regarding Quality management: Develop and maintain the Quality Management System, design and improve processes related to quality, and maintain policies, manuals, procedures, and records.

You have

• Experience: At least 5 years in a similar role.
• Knowledge: Degree in Risk Prevention, Science, or related field; occupational risk prevention degree or Master’s degree in Occupational Risk Prevention with all three specializations (Security in the workplace, Industrial Hygiene and Ergonomics, and Psychosociology), preferably with a scientific university degree (biology, chemistry, etc.).
• Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, teamwork, proactivity, client orientation, motivated and responsible attitude.
• Languages: High level of both spoken and written English.

You might also have:

• Valuable experience in this sector.
• Training and experience in biosafety.
