About BSC
The Barcelona Supercomputing Center - Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS) is the leading supercomputing center in Spain. It houses MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe, was a founding and hosting member of PRACE, and is now hosting entity for EuroHPC JU. The mission of BSC is to research, develop and manage information technologies to facilitate scientific progress. BSC combines HPC service provision and R&D into computer and computational science and currently has over 1000 staff from 60 countries.
Context and Mission
We are looking for an Education and Training Officer to work in the Education and Training Team of BSC. The team coordinates activities and fosters collaborations in HPC with universities, research institutions, and supercomputing centers at local, national, and European levels. Our mission is to develop the next generation of HPC professionals and strengthen Europe’s competitiveness in supercomputing through high-quality, accessible training initiatives. We seek a collaborative and innovative professional with experience in training programmes in HPC or related areas to contribute to European projects focused on HPC education and training.
The main responsibility of the position will be to coordinate and support the smooth functioning of the department, including events organized. The role also involves high-level support for national and international programs/projects.
Key Duties
- Coordinate foundational and specialised training for scientific personnel at BSC, in collaboration with BSC researchers from all departments
- Oversee curriculum development, instructional design, and harmonisation of training modules across participant groups
- Coordinate and support training events, seminars, and meetings for various audiences at different levels
- Collaborate with universities to deliver student-focused initiatives
- Monitor development progress, identify content gaps, and align training efforts
- Work closely with internal BSC departments and external stakeholders
- Prepare documentation, reports, presentations, and deliverables aligned with project milestones
- Contribute to writing of grant proposals
- Run the quality assurance system and prepare individual evaluations/assessments for every course
- Support the design and implementation of the BSC training program in alignment with European strategies and project frameworks
- Support training delivery logistics in collaboration with the wider Education & Training team
Requirements
- Education
- Master’s degree or equivalent work experience in a relevant field (Education, Computer Science, Project Management, Science Communication, or similar)
- Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
- Demonstrated experience in managing training programmes (ideally in HPC, AI or emerging technologies)
- Ability to liaise with diverse stakeholder groups (technical, academic, industrial, public sector)
- Ability to manage time and information to ensure smooth functioning of multiple activities
- Competence using office software to edit documents, create presentations, and analyze data
- Experience participating in, hosting, and presenting during online and hybrid meetings
- Fluency in English (spoken and written)
- Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience
- Experience in interdisciplinary environments or public-private partnerships is valued
- Experience in EU-funded projects or international collaborations is a plus
- Familiarity with HPC, digital skills training, or higher education frameworks is a plus
- Fluency in Spanish and Catalan are a plus

Conditions
- The position will be located at BSC within the Directors Department
- Full-time contract (37.5h/week) with a good working environment and state-of-the-art infrastructure
- Flexible working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance, relocation support
- Duration: Open-ended contract tied to project and budget duration
- Holidays: 23 paid vacation days plus 24th and 31st of December per collective agreement
- Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience, in line with cost of living in Barcelona
