As we expand our presence in Europe, we are seeking a versatile and proactive professional to establish and manage our Spain office while overseeing editorial operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Editorial Operations & OA Journal Management

• Manage the Editor-in-Chiefs and editorial board members of relevant journals and ensure timely and effective communication.
• Oversee the workflow of OA journal submissions, peer review, and production processes in alignment with internal standards.
• Monitor editorial performance metrics and implement improvements.
• Stay updated on OA publishing trends, policies, and best practices.

2. Team Recruitment & Training

• Lead the recruitment of editorial staff (e.g., publisher, managing editors, assistant editors).
• Convey training to new hires on editorial workflow protocols.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture, ensuring alignment with Scilight Press’s mission.

3. Office Management & Local Expansion

• Establish and manage day-to-day operations of the Spain office, including logistics, vendor relations, and compliance with local regulations.
• Serve as the primary liaison between the Spain office and global office, ensuring seamless communication.
• Support business development initiatives, such as partnerships with Spanish research institutions or societies.

Qualifications & Skills

Experience :

• 5+ years in academic publishing, preferably with OA journals (editorial or operations roles).
• Proven track record in team hiring, training, and performance management.

Skills :

• Strong organizational and project management abilities.
• Excellent communication inEnglish(written and spoken).
