Job summary

Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) is seeking a Research Engineer for advanced configuration of Edge AI accelerators. The role focuses on hardware/software co-design, resource management, and system-wide performance optimization in embedded platforms.

You will work with a small team on experimental platform development, be involved in benchmarking, and contribute to publications and project deliverables while collaborating with European partners.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or Master in Computer Science, Computer Architecture, or related field.
• Experience running AI workloads on embedded targets with accelerators (NPU, GPU).
• Good programming skills in C/C++ and solid Linux systems programming.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to research on advanced configuration and control for GPUs, NPUs, and other accelerators.
• Analyze interfaces for resource allocation, partitioning, scheduling, monitoring, and performance management.
• Develop low-level prototype software components, tools, and APIs to expose accelerator configuration and observability.
• Document technical results and contribute to publications, deliverables, demos, and presentations.
• Collaborate with a team of researchers and industrial partners in embedded systems and AI acceleration.
• Work on software-defined platforms for edge computing and system software integration.
