We partner with companies across real estate, hospitality, consumer products, and private equity-backed ventures. Now, we're looking for a Real Estate Controller to join us and help scale our growing real estate practice.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee all accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of real estate clients, including asset managers, developers, and operators
  • Manage financial statements, consolidations, and month-end closes with precision
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and industry best practices, including cost capitalization, lease accounting, and revenue recognition
  • Develop and improve financial processes, internal controls, and reporting structures
  • Work closely with clients, providing CFO-level insights and strategic financial guidance
  • Collaborate with our internal team of accountants and bookkeepers to maintain clean books and clear financials
  • Handle lender and investor reporting, debt covenants, and capital calls
  • Support tax teams with real estate-specific filings and compliance needs
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management for real estate portfolios

Requirements

What You Bring

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in real estate (property management, development, or investment preferred)
  • Strong understanding of real estate accounting principles, including CAM reconciliations, waterfall distributions, and cost segregation
  • Experience with QuickBooks, or similar real estate accounting software
  • CPA or CMA preferred but not required
  • Ability to lead, problem-solve, and communicate effectively with clients and internal teams
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a remote environment
