A leading research institute in Barcelona is seeking a Research Technician to support an economic evaluation project in Sub-Saharan Africa. The role involves literature reviews, data analysis, and collaboration with international partners to improve child health outcomes. The Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) is a cutting-edge institute addressing global public health challenges through research, translation into policy and education. ISGlobal has a broad portfolio in communicable and non-communicable diseases including environmental and climate determinants, and applies a multidisciplinary scientific approach ranging from the molecular to the population level. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
ISGlobal is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Technician to join our team to help conduct the economic evaluation of a prognostic tool for disease severity in Sub-Saharan Africa. The successful candidate will collaborate with partners of the H2020 ECHILIBRIST project, particularly the London School of Economics team leading the health economics work package. The chosen candidate will also work closely with the ISGlobal Health Economics Group. The salary will be determined based on the candidate’s skills and experience.
The ECHILIBRIST project aims to enhance child health outcomes by utilizing biomarkers for risk stratification and triage. It evaluates the performance of a point-of-care prognostic test to improve clinical decision-making for managing infections.
As part of this role, the candidate will contribute to various activities, including literature reviews and data analysis, supporting efforts to enhance care for children with febrile illnesses in Sub-Saharan Africa. Additionally, the candidate is expected to pursue an MSc in Economics in Barcelona within the framework of the ECHILIBRIST project.

SELECTION PROCESS
The selection process is designed in two phases :
1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV.
2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.
If needed any technical test could be passed. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.
In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process. After reviewing the content of the applications, the panel will start the interviews, with at least one technical and one administrative interview. A profile questionnaire as well as a technical exercise may be required during the process.
