At ING, we are looking for a Feature Engineer.

Your role and work environment :

We seek a talented and enthusiastic Feature Engineer to join our Data Management Tribe. This team maintains and evolves the data platform supporting the bank's daily operations.

Your key responsibilities :

1. Provide knowledge, vision, and structure to help find solutions for programs or complex IT environments.
2. Define and collaborate on IT strategy.
3. Refine technical solution directions and dependencies in coordination with architects and squad members, leveraging in-depth IT/application knowledge.
4. Verify that features work as designed, facilitate planning, and coordinate between squads and the tribe team, maintaining close relationships with business counterparts.
5. Create roadmaps and contribute to asset strategies, considering major transformations or complex changes.
6. Guide squads to find optimal solutions aligned with IT strategy and tribe needs, prioritizing epics and features.
7. Help align and resolve dependencies between squads.
8. Assist in preparing QBRs and Marketplaces.
9. Maintain stakeholder contact across all levels of ING, collaborating to achieve goals.
10. Identify relevant trends for the bank.
11. Serve as a go-to expert in specific knowledge areas for engineers from various disciplines.
12. Translate epics into features, helping developers understand dependencies, in collaboration with the domain architect.

What are we looking for?

• A person with a clear strategic vision for the bank and IT objectives.
• Understanding of the technology strategy applied to tribe assets or products.
• Experience as a software engineer, architect, or similar technical role.
• Strong knowledge of infrastructure and IT assets within the tribe domain.
• Skills to influence and manage stakeholders.
• Ability to work rapidly based on intuition rather than step-by-step reasoning.
• Understanding of the importance of details.
• Flexibility and adaptability to face uncertainty and acquire knowledge across disciplines.
• Assertiveness with clear and appropriate communication.
• Experience in refining and designing features, advising Product Owners on dependencies and priorities.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Background in Data Platform Ecosystems, Microservices Architectures, DataOps, DWH, DL patterns, and data consumption.
• Experience with Oracle, IBM suite, and/or Azure is a plus.
