Le candidat retenu travaillera sur des recherches concernant le marché du travail, en analysant les politiques publiques et en publiant des résultats. Formación

Offer Description

Applications are invited by the University of Alicante President to participate in a recruitment process for research staff (contract type: open-ended; job category: PhD senior researcher) to collaborate with the funded research line “Productivity, risk and macroeconomic policies”. Reference: I-PI 37-25

The process is governed by regulations for research staff applications, emphasizing electronic submission of all documents and communications.

First. General terms
  1. The aim is to recruit research staff for projects within the line of research “Productivity, risk and macroeconomic policies”.
  2. The research unit is the Department of Fundamentals of Economic Analysis.
  3. The initial project and number of vacancies are detailed in the annex; after its completion, successful candidates may join other projects within the same research line.
  4. A talent pool may be created from unsuccessful candidates who participated fully in the process, to be contacted for future needs.
Second. Requirements for applicants

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold or be completing a PhD (Spanish MECES level 4 or EQF level 8). Proof of degree or payment of diploma fees is required.
  • Have official approval or recognition if qualifications are obtained overseas. Evidence of initiation of approval process is required if not finalized by the deadline.
  • Be a Spanish national or in a situation covered by applicable laws, and be legally resident in Spain if applicable.
  • Be at least 16 years old and not beyond retirement age.
  • Possess the physical and mental capacity for the role, certified by a medical certificate if required.
  • Not have been dismissed or disqualified from public service or similar employment, under disciplinary or legal sanctions.
Third. Submission of applications

Applicants confirm the accuracy of their information and agree to provide proof if requested. Documents in non-official languages must be translated officially. Valid proof must be provided by the deadline for merit consideration.

Sixth. Selection system: Merit-based assessment

A talent pool may be created for future opportunities based on application scores.

Position: PhD senior researcher

Hours: 37.5 hours/week, morning/afternoon sessions

Remuneration: €5,586 gross/month + extra payments

Tasks:
  • Research on institutional impacts on the labor market, addressing unemployment, informal work, and inequality.
  • Analyze public policies affecting employment, wages, education, gender equity, skills, and entrepreneurship.
  • Design and apply rigorous research methodologies using advanced techniques.
  • Publish and disseminate research findings.
  • Collaborate with national and international institutions to inform policy.
Job Profile

Preferences:

  • Experience in international research environments and methodologies for labor market analysis.
  • Studies related to labor economics, regulations, and indicators like unemployment and inequality.
  • Analysis of public policies and economic regulations' influence on the labor market.
  • Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative evaluation methods.
  • Use of econometrics, applied economics tools, or predictive models.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate or Master’s degree in Economics (Spanish MECES level 2/3 or EQF level 6/7).
  • PhD in Economics or equivalent program (Spanish MECES level 4 or EQF level 8).
