The Role

We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer who not only possesses exceptional technical skills but also has a strong desire and experience in mentor and guide other engineers. In this role, you will play a crucial part in both contributing decisively to our product and business growth and fostering the professional development of our team.

We believe that the combination of skills is key to being a great senior software engineer. We expect you to be passionate about frontend development and also excited about contributing to the backend and team processes.

About our team

In this role, you will play a crucial part in both contributing decisively to our product and business growth and fostering the professional development of our team.

We are a diverse 14-person strong technology team spread across Spain, led by our CTO Ruben Vilar. We work within 3 squads, and we collaborate closely with the product team, fostering good practices such as clean code, testing, extreme programming, pairing / mob programming.

At Zinklar we have built a robust organizational system that is constantly iterating, which allows us to adapt to the constant changes demanded by the industry and achieve the purpose we pursue. Here, meetings and decisions are made collaboratively, fast feedback flows between the different teams and support between people is encouraged.

What we have

  • Our Frontend relies on ReactJS (v.18+, Redux, context, and hooks).
  • The Backend is built with Node.js micro services deployed in Google Cloud through Kubernetes. We have some micro services using Typescript too.
  • We use PostgreSQL for databases, Redis for caching, and RabbitMQ for event sourcing.

Challenges you will address

  • Help, mentor and push the team to achieve more sustainable code, attacking and providing solutions to the problems we currently face.
  • Promote changes and improvements in best practices and better processes to the rest of the team, following Lean Software Development and Extreme Programming principles.
  • Collaborate to improve our design by extracting the logic we currently have coupled to Redux and creating domain models that can be more sustainable.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to other engineers, helping them improve their technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and overall professional development.
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of ideas and designs by working closely with the Product team. Research and evaluate solutions and make recommendations to the Product Manager.
