Job summary
Compass Lexecon in Madrid is seeking junior economists for internships to support high-profile competition policy and economic regulation work. Interns join for 3–6 months, work closely with senior staff, and contribute to empirical analysis and reporting.
Ideal candidates are completing a Bachelor's or Master's in economics, possess strong analytical ability, and can communicate effectively. Start dates are flexible with virtual interviews currently conducted.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed Bachelor's or Master's in economics with focus on microeconomics, industrial organisation and/or econometrics.
- Highly analytical and able to work with data.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Accurate and detail-oriented.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Stata and Excel skills are desirable.
- Fluent in English; Spanish desirable.
Responsibilities
- Analysing qualitative and quantitative client data to understand competition.
- Reviewing literature and discussing theoretical and empirical approaches.
- Conducting empirical analysis using Excel and Stata.
- Drafting reports summarising analysis.
- Participating in client meetings and conference calls.
