Focus Economics, located in Barcelona, is offering a paid internship in their Partnerships team. This role is ideal for a proactive and organized individual interested in developing professional skills in business development and stakeholder engagement. You will assist in expanding the contributor network while gaining insight into the economic forecasting industry.

The internship offers a hybrid work model and requires fluency in both English and Spanish, along with a strong educational background in relevant fields.

Formación

• Background in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, or related field is required.
• Customer service experience is highly valued.
• Knowledge of Economics or related discipline is a plus.

Role Description

FocusEconomics is a leading provider of economic analysis and forecasts. We have built a strong reputation as a trusted source of timely and accurate business intelligence for clients across a wide range of industries, including major financial institutions, multinational corporations, and government agencies worldwide. We are looking for a proactive, organized, and people-oriented intern to join our Partnerships team. In this role, you will help expand and maintain our global network of economists and forecasting contributors. You will gain hands‑on experience in business development, stakeholder engagement, CRM management, and cross‑functional collaboration within an international company. This position offers a unique opportunity to develop professional communication skills, build relationships with leading economists around the world, and gain exposure to the economic forecasting industry. Important: You must be eligible to undertake an internship in Spain.

Responsibilities

Contributor Acquisition & Outreach

• Research and identify potential economists, analysts, and forecasting contributors who could join our forecasting network.
• Gather and maintain accurate contact information for potential contributors.
• Reach out to prospective contributors via email, phone calls, and LinkedIn.
• Present our collaboration model and explain how our surveys and forecasting process work.
• Answer questions and address any concerns from prospective contributors.
• Track outreach activities and maintain accurate records of progress, including successful contacts, rejections, and inactive leads.

Contributor Onboarding & Database Management

• Support new contributors throughout the onboarding process.
• Send questionnaires and collect forecast submissions.
• Set up new contributors in Salesforce and other internal systems.
• Ensure contributor information remains accurate and up to date across all databases.
• Monitor onboarding progress and follow up when necessary.

Contributor Support & Relationship Management

• Respond to contributor inquiries related to forecast submissions, contact updates, platform access, and general collaboration matters.
• Coordinate communication between contributors and internal teams, including Research, Data, and Production.
• Contact contributors regarding survey updates, data requests, methodological changes, and other announcements.
• Assist with forecast collection activities and follow‑up communications.
• Monitor inactive contributors and help maintain engagement across the network.
• Support special communication initiatives and contributor engagement campaigns.

Requirements

• Educational background in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, International Relations, Languages, or a related field.
• Experience in customer service, retail or hospitality highly valued.
• Knowledge of Economics or a related discipline is an advantage.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet targets.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Fluency in both English and Spanish is required (written and spoken).
• Interest in building relationships and comfortable speaking with new people daily.
• Familiarity with Salesforce (preferred but not required).
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with various teams.

Our Offer

• 40 working hours per week, Monday to Friday, between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.
• Minimum internship period: four to six months.
• Hybrid work model based in Barcelona.
• Paid internship: 720 euros per month (net), plus bonus scheme.
