Descripción del empleo

Our team comprises experts in imaging photonics and advanced materials, positioning Inmersia at the forefront of innovation with a robust intellectual property portfolio. We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with a startup mindset to develop casings for a near-eye display and mounts for its optical and electronic components. The primary goal is to collaborate with optical and electronics engineers to integrate all near-eye display components into a next-generation product.

Responsibilities:
  1. Define spatial requirements, mounting, and integration methods for optical and electronic components.
  2. Collaborate with optical designers and electronics engineers to integrate the near-eye display.
  3. Conduct FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulations to optimize mechanical strength, weight distribution, and heat management.
  4. Work closely with manufacturing teams and product engineers to ensure designs adhere to DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles.
  5. Design component housings in collaboration with electronics designers to ensure effective heat dissipation and electromagnetic insulation and shielding.
  6. Research and select suitable materials that are cost-effective, possess required mechanical, thermal, and electrical properties, and are compatible with large-scale manufacturing.
Prototyping & Testing:
  1. Rapidly create and iterate prototypes using methods such as 3D printing.
  2. Conduct tests to validate mechanical designs.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, Fusion 360).
  • Knowledge of properties of polymers, composites, and metals used in wearable and consumer electronics.
  • Experience with additive manufacturing (SLA, FDM, SLS 3D printing), CNC machining, and rapid prototyping tools.
  • Understanding of design principles for large-scale manufacturing techniques (e.g., injection molding).
  • Master’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering with 3+ years of relevant experience, preferably in consumer electronics, wearable devices, or AR/VR hardware.
  • Professional working proficiency in English.
