About the role:
As the Payroll Senior Specialist, you will contribute to payroll operations for our new SAP MPS and BPO service organization. Your responsibilities include payroll delivery assurance, operational support, payroll control, garnishments, compliance, payment releases, and reporting to authorities. You will coordinate payroll service delivery within the team, ensuring seamless execution of payroll tasks.
This role involves working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure operational excellence. You will support local HR process standards, continuous improvement, and collaborate with clients and country teams to manage localization activities, process deviations, and recommend solutions aligned with organizational and client needs.
What tasks can you expect?
- Drive process improvements by identifying optimization opportunities in country-specific processes.
- Support handling process deviations, assess impacts, and recommend solutions to design authorities.
- Manage change order processes, liaising with stakeholders for requirements, pricing, implementation, documentation, and training.
- Ensure understanding and adherence to global and local process standards, accommodating client-specific needs.
- Maintain SOPs, DWIs, guidelines, and process documentation, ensuring consistency and local adaptations.
- Develop training materials and train junior and medior team members on standards and processes.
- Communicate regularly with stakeholders to ensure standards and process changes are understood and implemented.
- Support process creation or modification to meet global standards and local conditions.
- Handle complex payroll cases, providing resolutions and acting as escalation point.
- Produce accurate payroll in line with SD Worx standards and SLAs.
- Participate in testing and validation for system updates and changes.
- Assist in system implementations, including UAT and parallel testing.
- Communicate daily with client contacts for payroll processing.
- Provide guidance and training to Payroll Administrators on best practices and compliance.
- Coordinate with external parties like tax authorities and benefit providers as needed.
- Manage Year End activities and statutory reporting.
What do you have to offer?
- 3-5 years of experience in Payroll outsourcing within an enterprise environment.
- Knowledge of payroll processes, including payroll control centre, garnishments, policies, controls, compliance, and reporting.
- Practical experience with Employee Central Payroll and payroll control centre.
- Experience managing client relationships and delivering services to multinational clients.
- Understanding of SLAs and KPIs.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work with clients and teams.
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, with a focus on HR process improvements.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Fluent in English and Finnish, with strong verbal and written skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in Payroll and BPO outsourcing is preferred.
- Knowledge of SAP SuccessFactors, SAP Payroll, Concur, Workforce Management, and integration tools is a plus.
- Experience with payroll interfaces is advantageous.
- Certifications like CPP, CPS, or CPM are a plus.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, improvement-focused environment.
