Descripción del empleo

Set a vision for long-term organizational success at the global / regional business level and implement strategic plans. Oversee the development and execution of objectives, plans, and policies, ensuring continuous improvement in Deutsche Bank’s competitive position and performance. Manage financial aspects including budget planning, management, and P&L. Maintain key internal and external business relationships. Ensure alignment with the DB risk management framework, regulatory, and compliance requirements. Represent the function in senior forums and committees.

Role Responsibilities

Independent Risk Management : Participate actively in formulating the risk strategy. Challenge management on issues and the development and implementation of the strategy.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Adhere to and promote company values and ethical standards, ensuring team compliance.
  • Lead an environment focused on people management and development.
  • Empower, manage, coach, and mentor direct reports and others; hold the team accountable for strong practices.
  • Foster collaboration among diverse teams for optimal ideas and recommendations.
  • Drive high performance through effective career management, succession planning, and talent development.
  • Act as a role model, communicate SMART objectives, and conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Manage tough people decisions to align performance with organizational needs.

Position-specific Leadership Responsibilities

  • Promote a risk-aware culture and effective governance of risks across DB Iberia.
  • Develop and manage risk reporting for Board decision-making.
  • Participate in local Senior Management discussions, challenge management of issues, and contribute to risk strategy development.

Skills

  • Risk & Regulatory Experience : Measurement, monitoring, compliance, and management of risks, including testing and reporting deficiencies.
  • Business Experience : Extensive risk management experience in banking, understanding of regulations (e.g., Bank of Spain, Basel IV), products, processes, systems, and risk analytics. Experience in credit risk, strategy, business planning, and regulatory implications, especially in Spain and Europe.
  • Leadership Experience : Managing risk teams within financial institutions, strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills in Spanish and English.

Qualifications

  • Recognized risk qualification (IRM Certificate or equivalent).
  • A degree in economics, law, or related fields.
