Accounting Manager SMAG - Full Time - Madrid, Spain

We are looking for an Accounting Manager SMAG to join our GF_Finance & Controlling, Accounting team in Spain.

Your main tasks and responsibilities :
  1. Manage the financial and operational accounting of Sulzer Management AG, supervising 3 direct reports.
  2. Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to the Swiss Code of Obligations.
  3. Control and manage cost center and profit center accounting, regularly reviewing value flows and processes.
  4. Handle fixed asset accounting and monitor CAPEX, including coordinating the IC netting process and monthly foreign exchange hedge determinations.
  5. Lead the annual statutory audit and manage tax matters such as VAT, withholding tax, and cash forecasting.
To succeed in this role, you will need :
  • Strong communication skills, autonomy, team and customer orientation, negotiation skills, discretion, resilience, and diligence.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, with additional qualification in Financial Management.
  • 4-5 years of experience in Finance and Accounting, including leadership responsibilities.
  • Technical knowledge of Swiss accounting law, IAS/IFRS, advanced MS Excel skills, and SAP FI/CO.
  • Proficiency in German (B2/C1) and English (C1).
  • Experience in complex problem solving, advisory roles, conceptual planning, and training.
  • Organizational talent with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and adapt to change.
