We are seeking to expand our team with a dedicated Attendance Support and Abilities Consultant to join our Occupational Health & Safety department. This role involves providing occupational health and safety services, attendance support, abilities services, and healthy workplace programming for staff, physicians, and volunteers.

Employment Status : Permanent Full-Time

Hours of Work : Monday - Friday, with flexibility required - Onsite

Location : Humber River Health, Wilson Site (Onsite)

Labour Group : Non-Union

Reporting to : Director of Occupational Health & Safety

Position Responsibilities :

  • Administer all WSIB claims, including managing appeals and return-to-work activities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to decide on STD / LTD / WSIB case actions.
  • Utilize claims documentation systems (e.g., Parklane) to track activities, identify trends, and generate reports.
  • Develop and facilitate return-to-work programs and processes.
  • Support, guide, and communicate with stakeholders regarding attendance and abilities programs.
  • Manage short-term disability claims, including adjudication and case coordination.
  • Assess functional abilities in conjunction with healthcare providers, employees, managers, and HR.
  • Assist in developing and delivering educational sessions for stakeholders.
  • Work with managers and HR on attendance support matters.
  • Provide feedback on workload, process efficiency, and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Escalate complex cases to the Director.
  • Review third-party medical assessments and reporting processes.
  • Contribute to program quality improvements through gap analysis and trend review.

Qualifications :

  • Undergraduate degree in a health-related field.
  • Certified Disability Management Professional (CDMP).
  • Membership in good standing with NIDMAR or equivalent preferred.
  • Regulated health professional membership (e.g., Nursing, Kinesiology, Physiotherapy).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with STD and WSIB claims.
  • Experience in a healthcare unionized environment preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Parklane software.
