As a Senior Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and operating applications, components, and services that encompass big data technologies, distributed computing, storage replication, and highly efficient data planes to serve life science customers and improve patient care. You will work on both broad and deep software systems engineering problems, owning the development of new components and features from conception to deployment. Your work will impact millions of patients worldwide, contributing to better health outcomes.

The services developed will be vital for Oracle Health's success, aiding customers in assessing market viability of new treatments, bringing them to market, and ensuring long-term wellness and safety globally.

We offer unique opportunities for skilled, hands-on Software Development Engineers passionate about solving complex problems in distributed, public cloud services. Our engineers significantly influence our systems' design and build innovative solutions to support critical customer applications.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams (Architecture, Product Strategy & Development, QA, Support & Services, and Central teams) to architect and design multiple products.
  • Documenting design specifications.
  • Implementing high-quality code and reviewing peer contributions.
  • Developing test automation for your code.
  • Participating in deploying new code to production.
  • Operating the services you develop.

Qualifications include:

  • BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of experience in designing and implementing complex software systems.
  • Proven experience with object-oriented programming languages such as Java or C++.
  • Knowledge of data structures and design patterns.
  • Experience with RESTful Web Services or cloud platforms like OCI, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience working with large data systems such as Data Lakes and Relational Databases at scale.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with massively scalable systems and healthcare data is a plus.
