Head of Finance - Europe Union

One of our partner companies is currently seeking a Head of Finance to oversee financial operations across European subsidiaries of a rapidly growing biopharmaceutical firm. This role involves building the finance function from scratch, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and leading strategic initiatives. It offers a unique opportunity to contribute to organizational growth, provide financial leadership, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive success in Europe.

Accountabilities :

1. Lead and manage all finance operations for European subsidiaries, including accounting, tax, and FP&A.
2. Ensure compliance with local regulations and maintain a strong internal control environment (SOX 404).
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Europe and the US to establish and scale financial operations.
4. Oversee VAT accounting, statutory tax reporting, and transparency reporting within European countries.
5. Partner with the Corporate FP&A team for budgeting and forecasting for the region.
6. Review quarterly financial reports comparing actuals versus budgets for each country and region.
7. Develop policies to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and support future growth.

Requirements :

1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
2. Minimum of 15 years of finance experience, with strong background in accounting, tax, and FP&A.
3. Experience managing teams and leading finance operations for US-based subsidiaries.
4. Deep knowledge of statutory tax accounting, VAT, and internal controls in a public company setting.
5. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills with multitasking ability.
6. Proven ability to implement policies and procedures across global teams.
7. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills for effective collaboration.
8. Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry is preferred.
