We at Wipro are urgently looking for an IP / MPLS SDN Consultant. You will be part of an IP SDN Designer team working within a Tier-1 Telco Operator responsible for defining, designing, developing, and implementing Automation Use Cases (UCs) for Telco & Networking domains.

Responsibilities :

1. You will collaborate directly with the Network & OSS Design, Planning, and Engineering teams to define, design, test UCs, and work towards their implementation, validate the solution in Lab, and deploy in the Production environment.
2. This position requires strong Software development skills (Python) and a deep Telco & Network technical background on IP / MPLS Services and Protocols.
3. The candidate will design, customize, and test the SDN architecture of Transport Networks (IP / MPLS routers) and their integration with OSS APIs.
4. Define, design, and evaluate SDN management interfaces (e.g., YANG models) for current Transport Network Management use cases, including North Bound Interfaces (NBI) towards OSS APIs and South Bound Interfaces (SBI) towards IP network devices with Open Config and vendor models.
5. Responsible for designing, building, implementing, and deploying UCs for automating the lifecycle of IP / MPLS services within a Tier-1 Telco network.
6. Contribute to automation initiatives within an application platform involving cross-functional teams.
7. Develop and perform code reviews to enhance SDN Use Cases, Test Plans, and Test Cases artifacts.

Skills and Experience :

1. Deep knowledge of SDN and NFV architectures.
2. At least 3+ years of proven software development experience for Telecom & Networking applications automating service lifecycle in Transport Network technologies, i.e., IP / MPLS.
3. Proven experience with IP / MPLS networks (minimum 3+ years).
4. Good understanding of IP / MPLS and other L2/L3 technologies such as OSPF, BGP-LS, Traffic Engineering, PCE, OpenFlow; certifications like CCNA, CCNP, or NRS-I/II are a plus.
5. Strong or intermediate Python development and scripting skills, with hands-on experience.
6. Experience with automation tools like Cisco NSO, Nokia NSP.
7. Knowledge of SDN, IP / MPLS architectures, and technologies is essential.
8. Familiarity with pair programming, TDD, Shifting-Left, BDD, CI/CD, DevOps practices.
9. Experience with main network vendors (Nokia, Huawei, Cisco, Juniper, ZTE, etc.) in network engineering projects.
10. Knowledge of other Telco & Network technologies is advantageous.
11. Knowledge of OSS tools and NBI / SBI interfaces is beneficial.
12. Experience with virtualization environments (KVM, VMware, or OpenStack) is a plus.
13. Previous engagement with standardization entities like IETF and TIP MUST is advantageous.
14. Excellent communication skills to serve as the main technical point of contact with customers and vendors.
15. Ability to lead a technical team during SDN Use Case deployment in lab and live networks.
16. Strong teamwork skills and ability to integrate into customer teams.
17. Proficiency in English and Spanish (spoken and written) is mandatory.

Qualifications :

1. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication, or related field).
2. Hands-on programming skills, especially in Python.
3. Understanding of networking concepts; certifications like CCNA, CCNP preferred.
4. Proactive team player with good communication skills.
5. Fluent in English and Spanish, Portuguese, or German.
