Descripción del empleo

Santander Auto Software is a greenfield programme, where we are building a brand-new, state-of-the-art software platform and product suite for the auto finance industry, to be rolled out in 13 countries across Europe and the UK.

The business is 100% tech-focused, remote-first, and comprised of skilled cross-border software builders, with a leadership team from major global tech companies.

You will collaborate closely with colleagues in product and business, sharing decisions about features, timelines, and priorities. You will also share in the results of the software you help build and evolve. This shared responsibility reflects the modern role of technology in our lives and emphasizes co-ownership over effort alone.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

We seek a highly experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with a strong background in designing and building test frameworks, solutions, and tooling from scratch for engineering teams.

This role involves working across various technologies and liaising with all areas of the business to enable automated testing of SAS applications. You will develop and improve automation frameworks and tooling with custom code, making testing easier for engineers and ensuring more reliable applications.

In this role, you will:

  • Identify gaps in current testing tools and frameworks, suggesting improvements to enhance quality outcomes.
  • Design and develop test frameworks, solutions, and tooling for SAS engineering teams to automate testing processes.
  • Provide consultancy and support to engineering teams on test frameworks, tooling, and strategies across various scenarios.
  • Debug solutions, tooling, and scripts, identifying flaws and implementing necessary improvements.
  • Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines for building, testing, and deploying solutions.
  • Support the SAS platform's end-to-end smoke tests.
  • Quickly determine root causes of test failures using an analytical approach.
  • Build frameworks for performance, load, and security testing.
  • Identify potential software improvements and communicate findings to engineering teams to enhance user experience.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Proven experience in designing and developing test automation frameworks and tooling for engineering teams.
  • Preferably experience with test strategies in a cloud-based microservices environment.
  • Deep knowledge of testing methodologies and practices.
  • Experience working in agile organizations with engineering teams.
  • Fluency in English and strong communication skills.
  • A good team player passionate about your work, with excellent listening and communication skills, capable of interacting at all levels.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment.

LOCATIONS

  • SAS has adopted a remote work model, with your workplace being your home residence as per your contract. We are hiring in Spain, Portugal, or the Netherlands.
